Availability

The garden is available for weddings from late May through to early October, when the weather is usually perfect for outdoor events.

We are booked out for full wedding events for 2025, but we can accommodate tiny mid-week elopements, and weekend micro-weddings (ceremony plus short celebration), so please get in touch with your proposal if you want to get married now in Cairns’ most popular, exclusive and gorgeous country garden wedding venue. Enquiries are always welcome.

We offer the following facilities:

For weddings, we offer a complete event venue from ceremony through to the end of your reception.

You choose your own suppliers from the many amazing and talented people offering wedding services such as caterers, celebrants, florists, cake-makers, make-up artists, hairdressers, musicians, videographers and photographers. See who we recommend.

Our couples are welcome to set up various activities at various locations throughout the garden, and to style the garden with your choice of decorations.

We offer our hiring couples exclusive use of LALOLI throughout ceremony, in-between party, and reception. Access to the venue is from 10.00am on the day of your booking for set up, to 11:00pm on the night of your function.

Included in the venue hire are our fourteen hand-made white-painted wedding pews (seating for 56) which you may use for the ceremony, and a signing table with matching chairs, and numerous other benefits including substantial planning and function support during your event.

We have ample power supply available throughout the venue, including sufficient supply for bands and caterers. We also have a back-up power plan so that, in the unlikely event that the power supply fails, we can ensure that your party will continue.

LALOLI is lovely in the moonlight, and we also have permanent lighting throughout the garden, and in The Sugar Shed.

Our ceremony spaces are:

  1. Our formal wedding gazebo garden;

  2. The Bamboo Chapel (for smaller ceremonies);

  3. The Western Lawn; and

  4. Our Northern Figtree Lawn (July and August).

Post ceremony (pre-reception) parties can be held in:

  1. The Bamboo Chapel;

  2. The Western Lawn; and

  3. The Barracks Bar.

Reception spaces are:

  1. The Sugar Shed;

  2. The Bamboo Chapel; and

  3. The Western Lawn.

What we do:

We are always here to provide support to our hirers, both before, during and after their event.

We provide extensive support to our couples during the planning stage, including a repeat visit to the venue for planning purposes where we assist with developing the event plan, and unlimited support by email, video call and phone.

During your event we are here to usher your guests from car-park to ceremony, liaise with your suppliers before and during your event, and we assist with solutions for you and your guests if anything goes wrong on your day. We can assist with cue-ing music for your ceremony, and assisting with timing your bridal party entrance, if required. We can help with cake storage, and with setting up of table flowers or other decorations (within reason) on the day of your event.

We pull down and clean up (subject to conditions) for couples who hire the majority of their furniture from us, freeing you up for post-celebrations and relaxation in the days after your event.

We can also assist with general styling and set up, again by agreement, or by provision of our special add-ons such as our "Festoon Light Marquee" for the Western Lawn, or our Bamboo Chapel "Bling" package.

We have competitively priced hire furniture available on-site, which we set-up and pull-down as part of the furniture hire, including large wooden trestle tables, wooden bentwood chairs, wine barrels and various stools, cane peacock chairs, a collection of casual cane furniture and other special items. Being on-site, there are no delivery fees for couples who hire furniture from us.

Parking and transport

Guest parking is available in the car-park which located on Roos Road, just past the Sugar Shed driveway. The venue is comfortably accessible for guests on foot from the car park (about 70 metres). Vehicles may be left on the property overnight for collection the following day, at the risk of the vehicle’s owner. Please discuss your transport and parking needs with us.

We suggest that you consider offering your guests the option of bus transport to and from the venue.

Bus drop-off is in the guest car-park on Roos Road.

Bus pick-up is from The Sugar Shed.

Your suppliers should enter by The Sugar Shed driveway, or the track from the car park. Your bridal party may arrive via The Sugar Shed driveway as it affords an alternative private route, away from your guests.

The Sugar Shed driveway is asphalt-sealed to The Sugar Shed, and is accessible by coach, and limousine.

Music and dancing

Music is lovely in the garden. We encourage live music and we can suggest a number of artists and bands who might suit your taste and budget.

Wet weather options

Garden weddings are divine when the weather is fine, and it is rare that rain is a problem.   But when it does rain, our awesome wet weather ceremony and reception solution is “The Sugar Shed”, our old farm shed, which is a magnificent venue for both ceremony and reception.
